You Capture: Cold

Since I posted some pictures yesterday I've really felt the need to pick up my camera and capture some pictures again. I decided to check out I Should Be Folding Laundry's Blog to see what this weeks challenge was. What would you know it works perfectly for this week! Cold! :) Out came the camera and I went to take a few different pictures. Here is one of them:

So now that I'm inspired again, maybe I'll be taking more pictures!

Since I've been slacking off here some pictures from last year. I took these pictures specifically for my mom's frame and just hadn't gotten around to posting them other than a sneak peek of one of them. So here's a few more!

I've been slacking off!

The beginning of this year I had a resolution to participate in photography challenges to help me take more pictures. Well as you have obviously already noticed that worked for a little little while but not for long. Ooops.. my bad! I haven't blogged any of the pictures I've taken in a long while. Not a good thing. Trust me I haven't stopped taking pictures but with everything else going on in my life in the past say 4 1/2 months, well lets just say it wasn't on the top of my list of things to do.

If you read my main blog you'll already know that we hope to have a baby mid-April-ish next year. First of all I had morning sickness really bad for about 3 1/2 almost 4 months so extras just didn't happen. One big reason that none of the pictures I took all summer got put on my blog either. Anyway... I hope to try fix that and at least get some pictures up sometime soon. I'll do my best, but won't promise anything!

Photoshop Elements Fun

Using Photoshop Elements is a challenge to me.. I honestly wish I knew more about it, and knew the easy way to do editing using Elements! All that being said I still manage to have some fun with it, and enjoy the way pictures turn out at times when I am just messing around for fun! Today was no different when I decided to work on a picture of my sister! So here it is, also maybe now that I've started I'll do a few more this week of my other siblings!

What's new in my Camera Bag?

Well, I've been thinking about buying myself a bigger flash for a while now. The other day while I was in London Drugs I saw that the exact one that I had been looking at was on SALE!!! So since I was waiting for a picture to get printed and didn't have anything else to do while I waited I thought about it long and hard. I finally decided that I was going to bite the bullet and get it! One disadvantage is that it makes your camera even heavier :( But I love having the bigger flash for events when you need it!

Photoshoot: Addison

So this morning I did a quick photoshoot with Addison in a pillowcase dress that I sewed for her. Here are some of the pictures that we got :)

Spring Time Blossoms

Well I've had some of these pictures on my camera for a little while already but just haven't had time to post them due to working. Now that I spend most of my days sitting at home again I thought I should probably get some up on here again, since I'm sure some of you get really bored coming to check out my blog only to find nothing new!

News...

Well, so I'm sure everyone is going "news?" Nothing huge other than we have moved to a new home, yesterday for that matter. That is one of the reasons that I haven't been posting here a lot, the other is that I have been working so I don't have a lot of time to pull out my camera and take random pictures. Especially because I've been coming home exhausted at night, still have to make dinner and do all the other fun things that go with having a home!

Now that the move is behind us I promise that I'm going to try harder to get some more pictures on here!! I have some ideas... now I just need to find someone that can help me out :)

Editing for fun!

So my latest thing is starting to become "editing pictures for fun"!  The only reason I've never been big into editing my pictures is because it takes time, but also I really need to learn more about how etc. So I've been trying to change that, and have started messing around with my program to see what kinds of interesting things I can come up with. The one I did today was one of our own wedding photo's that our photographer took.

The downside to not knowing enough about my Photoshop Elements 7, is that I can't tell you what I did to get this effect.. :( I should have written it down but either way here it is!

My life...

Lately all I've been doing is spending time sitting behind my sewing machine and serger. Definitely not a bad thing, but it made me think I should take a picture that was somehow related to that.... so I came up with this:

So there you have it... I'm really happy with how the bottom picture turned out, well I'm happy with both of them but for some reason the bottom one is cooler to me.. lol

Photo Challenge: Cold

For those of you who already saw this post I'm sorry for messing up! I should have had a picture of something red for last weeks.... oops.


Well this weeks challenge is COLD. This is definitely a challenge for me because honestly it is cold outside but there isn't any snow... so how do you show that it is right around freezing when it doesn't show in a picture. I really started thinking and trying to come up with something and finally I had an idea.. Ice cubes are cold :)

I think that it turned out pretty good.. and this challenge definitely made me have to think outside of the box!

I'm hoping that next weeks is easier than this one!!

You Capture: Cirles

Well it is circles week, and the first time that I'm participating in the photo challenge.

My favorite clock :)

Car seat cover, I love the polka dots/circles on here. (I make these and will be posting them on my Etsy shop, hopefully soon!)

Washer and Dryer, I was looking for another circle when I was instantly drawn to take a picture of the fronts of my washer and dryer!

Goal - New Years Resolution

Well my New Years Resolution this year is to take more pictures, and learn more about my Camera. I currently own a Nikon D40 and have for 2 1/2 years now, knowing that I could to a lot more with it as well but it is just so easy to use it in the auto setting a lot of the time. Well no more this year... so what have I done to change that, I signed up for a photo taking "assignment" from I Should Be Folding Laundry's Blog.

Scenic Mountains

So today I spent some time taking pictures using my point and shoot camera since I didn't feel like carrying my big one around, and since I told  myself that my new resolution for this year was to take more pictures and post them on here... I figure I better post it even though I didn't use my fancy camera.

So there are two new pictures, finally!

Plentiful Harvest

Since I had some company over this past weekend I decided to take them out to see some of the very traditional aspects of the Valley where I live: Grapes, and apples! Of course I never go away without my camera when I do things like this so here are just a few shots that I took while we were out and about!

Amazing Sunset

Tonight my husband was out mowing our yard (hopefully for the last time this year) when he came running inside and told me to hurry get the camera and come take some pictures. At first I couldn't figure out what his panic was all about, and I did have to get supper ready. When I walked out the door I saw why he wanted me to take some pictures. Anyway here is some fun pictures :)

I'm going to have to tell you that this picture below was my favorite of all the ones I took. I love how the tree just stands out in the background!

Watermark time

Creating a watermark has been something I had been thinking about making for a while, but didn't bother to figure out how it exactly worked until this morning. Anyway I have come up with something that I like and now I just need to get used to putting it on my pictures! Here is a sample of the one I did:

Well I took a few pictures of my sisters wedding, mainly being her morning photographer. Of course I don't attend events like this and not take my camera along so I had a few more captured moments throughout the day! Anyway here is a few pictures.
